Being born in Cuba, that beautiful island in the shape of an alligator and bathed by the Caribbean Sea, returning in my paintings to our rich cultural heritage is one of my main sources of inspiration. Our ancestors were nourished by that legacy, and our current generations continue feeding themselves from it today. My work "Renaissance" is an ode, a chant of love and gratitude to that cultural and historical heritage, with the feeling that its roots sprout from time to time, to stay alive forever.
